About The Position:
The Automotive Service Specialist position is a full-time hourly role that adapts to the operational needs of the business. This position is accountable for executing fundamental vehicle repair and maintenance tasks in line with company protocols and manufacturer guidelines. The Automotive Service Specialist is expected to provide outstanding service to our customers, effectively communicating vehicle concerns and suggested solutions while ensuring that customer expectations regarding timeframes and quality are consistently fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic vehicle services and repairs accurately and efficiently, adhering to Mr. Tire standards of operation. Tire Services – conduct wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair. Vehicle Services – execute lubrications, oil changes, and basic maintenance tasks (e.g., bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements), along with battery testing and installations. Diligently complete Mr. Tire's Courtesy Inspection process on every customer vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional required services and repairs. Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking supplies. Support all general store operations, ensuring the facility is in excellent condition and maintained to Mr. Tire standards for cleanliness and is consistently guest-ready. Adhere to Mr. Tire's safety protocols while performing services, including but not limited to wheel torque, oil safety, and compliance procedures. Conduct test drives in accordance with Mr. Tire's Road Test policy, consistently utilizing designated test drive routes while observing all local traffic and safety regulations. Understand and comply with company policies and procedures, as well as governmental standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA regulations. Ensure consistent application of all required safety standards as outlined in training and policies. Maintain technical knowledge and skills to ensure proficiency through the timely completion of all required Mr. Tire training courses and modules. Operate, utilize, and maintain all equipment safely in accordance with Mr. Tire and equipment manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, brake lathes, etc. Perform additional duties as assigned and required.Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Automotive training, including basic vehicle maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a current valid driver's license and maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). Required to own a basic set of tools or participate in Mr. Tire's tool purchase program.Profile Summary
Ability to take initiative in identifying issues, gathering data, and establishing facts to make practical decisions and recommend solutions. Strong customer service orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and prepare routine reports.Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role operates in an automotive service environment. The position will involve exposure to moderate noise levels, adverse weather conditions, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust. Automotive Service Specialists must be able to complete the following, but not limited to:
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to see, lift, carry, and stock merchandise and supplies up to 75 lbs. without assistance. Frequent standing and walking for extended periods. Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.Additional Information
