Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) delivers high-quality medical care to a diverse range of patients. This role involves examining and treating patients independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The APRN ensures proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. This position may involve prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests. The APRN advises patients on continuing care and ensures that they receive the best possible treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Performs and documents complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories. Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
  • Diagnostic and Therapeutic Tests: Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
  • Prescription and Treatment: Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Intervention and Monitoring: Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability. Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals. Facilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare settings.
  • Quality Improvement: Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification and Licensing: Valid State of Florida APRN License.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
