Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Coordinator to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, orienting, supervising, and evaluating students and clinical instructors on campus and at clinical sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all students meet clinical site requirements prior to scheduling clinical shifts
  • Coordinate and schedule clinical site orientation sessions for students with each clinical agency
  • Conduct site visits at clinical agencies and facilities to observe students during clinical shifts and field internship
  • Provide program orientation and training to clinical and field preceptors
  • Maintain regular contact with clinical preceptors, clinical sites, and EMS agencies
  • Assist the EMS Program Director with evaluating the program's clinical sites
  • Assist clinical preceptors by providing evaluation devices for student learning and clinical experience
  • Function as a liaison between the EMS program and clinical sites
  • Monitor student clinical progress and clinical competency based on program objectives
  • Audit all clinical documentation to ensure students meet satisfactory progress in achieving clinical requirements
  • Maintain all clinical documentation as required by CoAEMSP standards and OEMS regulations
  • Assist the EMS Program Director with seeking new clinical agencies/facilities as needed to provide quality experiences for EMS students and support program growth
Requirements
  • National Registered Paramedic
  • VDH Paramedic (or ability to obtain)
  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of EMS program skill tracker software
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • VDH EMS Education Coordinator
  • Experience as clinical coordinator for paramedic program
  • Emergency Room Tech
