About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wire Transfer Specialist I to join our team at Lake Michigan Credit Union. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for processing incoming and outgoing wire transfers while ensuring proper procedures are followed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process outgoing wires following Federal Reserve Bank standards and Office of Foreign Assets Control/Bank Secrecy Act policy.
  • Assist members with general wire inquiries, obtain wire agreements, create and maintain recurring wire templates.
  • Review requests for accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Research wire instructions for foreign wires to ensure accuracy and timely receipt.
  • Ensure compliance with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau remittance rules.
  • Work with members/staff to ensure proper and complete instructions.
  • Assist members in tracing funds as needed.
  • Review incoming wires and ensure posting to the account indicated, verifying the wire beneficiary is the account owner.
  • Review accounts for potential fraudulent transfers and initiate wire service messages to obtain additional information as needed.
  • Accept outgoing wire instructions from members via telephone following current policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Three or more years of experience in an administrative, accounting, and/or customer service role.
  • Excellent written communication, oral communication, and phone etiquette skills.
  • Above-average aptitude for working with figures while maintaining accuracy.
