As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering a world-class patient experience by providing exceptional customer service and executing front office administrative duties with precision and care.Key Responsibilities
- Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create a positive patient experience
- Provide exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment, working cohesively on a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Manage patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection, and cash receipting, ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
- Encourage patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
- Enter and maintain confidential and accurate patient information, including insurance, billing, and payment details throughout the patient encounter
- Assist billing functions accurately and direct to the appropriate billing office
- Demonstrate proficiency in emergency codes and responses, as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
- Monitor inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for extended periods and work in a fast-paced office environment. Ability to bend and lift up to 10 pounds is required.Education, Experience, and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED is required. Computer experience and customer relations experience are also necessary. Experience with Medical Records Software and front desk practice experience are preferred.-
