The Research Associate will engage in both routine and advanced laboratory techniques while collaborating closely with the Principal Investigator and fellow Research Scientists. This role involves the development, adaptation, and implementation of innovative research methodologies and protocols. The individual will also analyze and interpret research data, contributing to grant proposal preparations and participating in scholarly publications and presentations as an author or co-author. Note that this position does not entail the responsibility of securing grant funding.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, without the obligation of generating grant funds.
- Contribute to publications and presentations as an author or co-author.
- Design and execute experiments, maintaining thorough experimental records and documentation while analyzing results in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
- Develop, adapt, and implement novel research techniques and protocols.
- Analyze, interpret, summarize, and compile research data.
- Conduct both routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training phase.
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment and instruments.
- Observe interactions between medical professionals and research subjects relevant to ongoing research activities.

Qualifications

Educational Background:
A Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in a field directly related to the area of research specialization is required.

Experience & Skills:
Possesses comprehensive technical and theoretical knowledge of the research project and objectives during a one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment.
Works autonomously on research initiatives designed by a mentor (typically the Principal Investigator) within the specialization area.

Demonstrates the ability to execute experimental protocols and procedures, including meticulous data collection, analysis, and the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment.

Knowledge of safety standards and the upkeep of specialized equipment is essential.
