Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team at Fastenal. As a key member of our Route Team, you will be responsible for delivering goods to our branches and customer locations in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor trailer or straight truck to transport goods across state lines
  • Unload freight at each stop along your route, utilizing a handheld scanner and other equipment as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service by delivering products in a prompt and efficient manner
  • Interact with our shipping and receiving departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment within our equipment
  • Inspect and report defects or issues in equipment
  • Comply with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
  • Participate in activities and programs that promote health, safety, and sustainability
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one
  • Current Health Card or ability to obtain one
  • Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only)
  • Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
  • Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
  • Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
  • Successfully complete required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior driving work experience
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
