We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team at Fastenal. As a key member of our Route Team, you will be responsible for delivering goods to our branches and customer locations in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a tractor trailer or straight truck to transport goods across state lines
- Unload freight at each stop along your route, utilizing a handheld scanner and other equipment as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering products in a prompt and efficient manner
- Interact with our shipping and receiving departments to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within our equipment
- Inspect and report defects or issues in equipment
- Comply with DOT and Fastenal safety regulations
- Participate in activities and programs that promote health, safety, and sustainability
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one
- Current Health Card or ability to obtain one
- Haz Mat endorsement or ability to obtain one (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only)
- Meet Fastenal driving record requirements
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of DOT regulations
- Maintain DOT regulated Drivers Hours-of-Service
- Willingness to drive interstate routes across state lines
- Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
- Lift up to 60 lbs. and maneuver up to 150 lbs.
- Successfully complete required DOT drug and alcohol screens, road test, employment verification, and background check
- Prior driving work experience
- Prior experience operating a forklift
