Driver and Examiner Specialist

This position plays a critical role in promoting public roadway safety by administering prescribed vision screening, knowledge, oral, road, and skills tests for motor vehicle operators to ensure only qualified individuals obtain a Minnesota driver's license.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for inspecting motor vehicle dealership facilities and records to ensure compliance with state dealer laws, and inspecting motor vehicles for identification and titling purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer vision screening, knowledge, oral, road, and skills tests for motor vehicle operators

- Provide customer service and communicate complex information to a wide variety of audiences
- Work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
- Oral, written, and customer service communication skills

- Cashiering and math skills
- Experience providing customer service in a high-volume, stressful environment
- Typing-keyboarding skills
- Unrestricted driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
- Knowledge of driving and motor vehicle laws
- Ability to negotiate, resolve issues, read situations, and settle disputes
- Face-to-face customer service experience in a business with high-volume customer traffic
- Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage a wide variety of duties while working independently
- Knowledge of a written and spoken second language and English
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent customer interactions. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and to transport 25 pounds.
