Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with rotating shifts of 8 and 10 hours (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM and 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM). On-call duties are required.

Position Overview

This role involves performing interventional radiologic procedures in alignment with the department's and hospital's policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives. The ideal candidate will be trained and experienced in caring for patients undergoing various Interventional Radiology Procedures, including Angiograms, Thrombectomy, Kyphoplasty, Venous Access, Biopsy, and Drainage. We seek a highly motivated, adaptable team player who can maintain composure and focus in high-pressure situations. Flexibility is essential, as needs and schedules may change throughout the day. Collaboration within the department and across services is crucial to delivering quality healthcare.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Science.
  2. Radiologic Technologist License.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. At least one (1) year of experience in an Interventional Radiology lab.
  2. Vascular Intervention (VI) certification.

Key Duties:

  1. Prepare and position patients for interventional procedures under the guidance of the Interventional Radiologist.
  2. Assemble sterile procedure trays with necessary supplies as directed by the Interventional Radiologist.
  3. Assist the physician in the accurate positioning of guidewires, catheters, and devices during procedures.
  4. Maintain a sterile environment and an organized procedure table.
  5. Circulate the room during procedures, identifying and providing supplies as requested by the physician, using appropriate hand-off techniques.
  6. Transmit images to PACS, merge studies, and assign them to the appropriate physician.
  7. Document all exams performed, including supplies used, contrast media, and fluoroscopy time.
  8. Engage in radiation safety practices, including monitoring badges and using safety equipment, while adhering to radiation safety protocols and attending required training.
  9. Provide pre and post-procedure education to patients as necessary.
  10. Assist with inventory management, maintenance, and ordering of supplies.
  11. Demonstrate skills in patient monitoring procedures, including blood pressure, pulse oximetry, intravenous care, and sterile technique.
  12. Accurately record all charges and review them for reconciliation upon completion of exams.
