Join Our Team as a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Spherion Staffing is excited to invite a dedicated and skilled Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to be part of our dynamic Fargo team.

Role Overview:
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for the solicitation, design, execution, management, review, and analysis of various commercial mechanical contracts. You will collaborate with the management team to engage in strategic discussions related to business planning, including pricing strategies, vendor cost management, contractor retention, and field labor oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engineering and Project Management:
    - Design and engineer mechanical systems for both new and existing structures.
    - Utilize robust project management skills and field expertise to deliver contracts to contractors for execution.
    - Oversee contract execution, material procurement, labor scheduling, and ensure quality and efficiency in project management.
    - Maintain accurate and timely records in job files, including purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
    - Ensure that materials and equipment meet high-quality standards while maintaining competitive costs to achieve target profit margins.
  • People Management:
    - Supervise field personnel, focusing on their training, development, and performance evaluations.
    - Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to empower team members.
    - Build a cohesive team through effective recruitment and placement strategies.
    - Foster open communication with the field team to ensure successful project management.
    - Offer guidance and track progress to analyze contract performance.
  • Business Development and Contractor Relations:
    - Identify and pursue new quality contractors to expand business opportunities.
    - Cultivate strong relationships with contractors to secure long-term work volume.
    - Engage with industry trade organizations to enhance visibility and foster new business relationships.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC sector.
  • Proven ability to network and secure new contractors while maintaining existing relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
