Position Responsibilities
Develop strategies for Application Performance Monitoring and Optimization within production settings.
Address incidents and enhance the platform based on user feedback, tracking the reduction of incidents over time.
Ensure accurate and timely batch production scheduling and processes.
Capable of creating and executing queries on big data platforms and relational databases to identify process issues or conduct mass updates, preferred.
Handle ad hoc user requests such as data research, file manipulation/transfer, and investigation of process issues.
Employ a comprehensive approach to problem-solving, connecting various technology components during production events to optimize recovery times.
Engage in and enhance the entire service lifecycle—from inception and design to deployment, operation, and refinement.
Analyze ITSM activities of the platform and provide feedback to development teams regarding operational gaps or resilience concerns.
Support services prior to launch through system design consulting, capacity planning, and review processes.
Facilitate the application CI/CD pipeline for software promotion into higher environments through validation and operational gating, leading in DevOps automation and best practices.
Maintain live services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
Sustainably scale systems through automation and advocate for changes that enhance reliability and efficiency.
Collaborate with a global team across various tech hubs and time zones.
Share knowledge and explain processes and procedures effectively to others.
Qualifications
Proficient in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Nifi, Impala).Experience in data analysis, observability, ingestion, and integration.
Minimum of 5 years in data engineering, infrastructure, DataOps, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering roles.
At least 5 years of experience managing Big Data production systems.
Over 1 year of hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
Experience in architecting and implementing data governance processes and tools (e.g., data catalogs, lineage tools, role-based access control).
Strong understanding of SQL fundamentals.
Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
Systematic problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and a strong sense of ownership.
Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
Experience supporting various stakeholders and managing urgent decision-making in challenging situations.
Eagerness for change and innovation in automation practices.
Proven experience collaborating across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
Experience in designing and implementing an efficient CI/CD flow that transitions code from development to production with high quality and minimal manual effort is preferred.
Good understanding of Change Management and Release Management aspects of software.
