Job Summary

Quantum-Si is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Controller and Chief Financial Officer to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing accounting team, overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general accounting, external financial reporting, technical accounting, treasury, and internal controls.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and systems, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations.
  • Maintain a strong internal controls environment, adhering to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including oversight of the annual audit.
  • Oversee technical accounting and external financial reporting, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and inventory valuation.
  • Manage the treasury function, including banking transactions and investment policies.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Audit Committee on financial matters, including quarterly and annual audit results, control observations, and remediation activities.
  • Evaluate the technical competence, effectiveness, and productivity of the accounting team, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing process redesign, system implementation, and condensed close cycle initiatives.
  • Partner with the executive management team, business units, and other members of the finance team to provide financial guidance and advice on business activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification and Big 4 experience preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and private sector work, with a focus on the medical device, life sciences, or high-tech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and public company reporting requirements.
  • Experience with technical accounting areas, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and inventory valuation.
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidations and strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of systems, including ERPs, expense management tools, and AP automation.
Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $270,000, with additional compensation through our discretionary bonus program and equity package.
