The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SFHN Chief Quality Officer Manager VIII to lead our Quality Management efforts. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in healthcare quality improvement and a proven track record of success in supervising healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and coordinate all SFHN efforts to monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory, state, federal, and Joint Commission requirements.
- Provide vision, political acumen, and leadership to motivate and direct the SFHN Quality Management Team, clinical and non-clinical services, and staff in developing and achieving quality goals and objectives.
- Create an environment that fosters innovation and performance, supporting the implementation of programs that continuously advance clinical outcomes and patient experience.
- Actively implement innovative ideas to redefine, measure, and improve quality.
- Maintain the SFHN's system-wide Quality program, including data collection, aggregation, analysis, policy development, and reporting.
- Coordinate performance improvement efforts, risk management, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and infection prevention and control programs and activities within the SFHN.
- Work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to improve key performance indicators, design processes for new initiatives, services, and targets identified by SFHN and DPH leadership.
- Serve as an internal consultant to SFHN and DPH leadership, clinical and non-clinical staff in the areas of regulatory, process improvement, performance monitoring, and statistical analysis.
- Assist in establishing operational performance measurements and monitoring trends in key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness, reliability, efficiency, etc.
- Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures, and review existing policies and procedures for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Six (6) years of managerial experience in healthcare quality improvement, all of which must include supervising healthcare professionals.
- Additional experience may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years).
- Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited university or college in Public Health, Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
