Join Our Team as a Materials & Processes Engineer

We're looking for an experienced Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin and help us develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems.

About the Role

This role will involve providing technical expertise in metallic materials, including additive manufacturing, to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Broad technical support for metallic materials, including additive manufacturing
  • Support design, analysis, materials selection, process development, and M&P qualification for space vehicles
  • Review production drawings for complex assemblies, documenting reviews according to established requirements
  • Responsible for M&P signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies
  • Lead internal and external M&P efforts for additive manufacturing, developing material specifications, process specifications, supplier qualifications, part qualifications, mechanical testing, and customer-facing updates
  • Develop internal processes to standardize and accelerate material evaluation, implementation, and qualification
  • Collaborate with design engineers to ensure part designs are compatible with additive manufacturing processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Additive Manufacturing M&P Engineering on a production flight or space program
  • Experience with additive manufacturing of aluminum and/or titanium for aerospace applications
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing part qualification test plans for AM components
  • Familiarity with industry standards for material data analysis
  • Ability to travel for development and testing opportunities
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $136,467-$191,053.80 per year, depending on location and experience.
