Job Description

At Choice House, we are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Boulder, CO. This is a non-remote position that requires in-person work.

Our 12-Step based residential treatment community provides a safe environment for men to build community, find meaning, and develop a life in recovery from substances. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring daily program schedule adherence, planning, and implementation of recreational, therapeutic, and educational services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate individual and group therapeutic activities, including coaching, milieu management, and case management.
  • Provide feedback to the clinical team regarding clients' motivation, participation in group activities, and milieu interactions.
  • Uphold program rules, guidelines, and policies, and assist clients in following all rules, guidelines, and policies.
  • Provide transportation to and from client appointments.
  • Assess, collaborate, and coordinate clients' discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the clinical team.
  • Obtain urine drug test specimens and breathalyzer tests.
  • Maintain the safety of the milieu at all times, including awareness of client location and high-risk situations.
  • Maintain the daily program schedule and special events schedule.
  • Document shift summary reports and send via email.
  • Follow all requirements when dispensing and/or providing medication to clients.
  • Perform light janitorial duties.
  • Perform bed checks per shift requirement.
