The Position

We are seeking a Sr Systems Engineer - Functional Safety to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing functional safety work products for road vehicle safety-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop functional safety work products based on ISO26262 and Continental internal safety process requirements.
  • Conduct hardware and software safety analyses to ensure compliance with safety goals and requirements.
  • Support functional safety assessments for assigned projects and ensure timely documentation of results.
  • Analyze customer specification documents for functional safety requirements and perform impact analysis from a functional safety management perspective.
  • Provide training and raise awareness about functional safety principles and practices within the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2 years of related work experience, including experience in applying ISO26262 for developing safety-critical electrical and electronic systems in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in managing product safety lifecycle from concept to decommissioning, ensuring compliance with ISO26262.
  • Ability to review customer specification documents and ensure functional safety requirements can be implemented and validated.
