Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled CEI Inspector Road/Bridge Specialist to join our team at TranSystems. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and oversee construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Perform quality control inspection activities on roadways, bridges, railroads, and site work.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Measure distances to ensure accuracy of dimensions of structural installations and layouts.
  • Prepare samples of unapproved materials for laboratory testing.
  • Examine workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and approve installation.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications for contractors and discuss deviations from specified construction procedures.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
  • Maintain daily logs of construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3-7 years of inspection experience with some technical training or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software and Internet software.
  • SCDOT Earthwork, Drainage and Base Course, Asphalt Roadway Technician, CEPSI, ACI Field Level I, SCDOT Concrete Level 1& 2, SCDOT Foundations, Traffic Control or some combination thereof the previously mentioned certifications.

Physical Demands:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80-90 pounds.
