Job Summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a Supervisor – Electrical Maintenance to oversee electrical maintenance and operations within concentrator operations. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, optimizes equipment performance, and leads a team of electricians to deliver efficient and effective electrical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and train a team of electricians and technicians to ensure high performance and safety adherence.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee electrical maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions.
  • Monitor the performance of electrical systems and equipment, identifying areas for improvement or replacement.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Prepare reports for management review.
  • Work closely with other departments, including operations, engineering, and safety, to ensure seamless coordination of activities.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee inventory of electrical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels for maintenance and repair needs.
Requirements
  • Electrician Journeyman's license and two or more years related experience; or at least four years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial setting may be considered in lieu of license.
  • Working knowledge of processing facility operations in the Mining industry, including maintenance, safety, equipment, and staff utilization.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical code, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical prints and schematics.
  • Experience/knowledge in NFPA 70E (arc flash) and MSHA requirements.
  • Project management experience with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with document control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
Education
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Completion of 2-year technical program or Bachelor's Degree in related curriculum.
  • Master Electricians License preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • This position requires some work in front of a PC, desk, and phone and regular field work.
  • Some lifting and strength required.
