The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance department and ensuring the hotel's facilities are well-maintained and safe for guests and staff. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Monitor and control departmental expenses, including maintenance contracts and utility costs.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and capital plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal policies and guidelines related to maintenance and safety.
  • Supervise the proper operation of hotel equipment and systems, including life safety, telecommunications, and HVAC.
  • Handle maintenance request orders in a prompt and courteous manner, including logging and follow-up.
  • Hire, train, and supervise department associates.
  • Communicate with the Assistant General Manager and other stakeholders regarding the condition of the building and related systems.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with hotel maintenance and operations, preferably with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of accounting programs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with office procedures, ordering materials, and securing bids.
