About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Canfor's Iron Mountain Sawmill in El Dorado, AR. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Regular Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure they are in top working condition.
  • Diagnose and Repair Electrical Issues: Diagnose and repair electrical problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Install New Electrical Systems: Install new electrical systems, machinery, and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure Electrical Safety: Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Recommend Upgrades: Recommend and implement upgrades to improve electrical systems and processes.
  • Record Maintenance: Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other team members, including mechanics and production staff, to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a sawmill or similar setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Manufacturing Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus. Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process would be an asset.
  • Safety Commitment: A commitment to safety and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team, collaborating with other electricians, operations, production staff, and supervisors.
