Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team in the Bridge Division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing bridge structures, working closely with our sales and marketing teams to integrate our products into site plans, and providing technical support to our operations and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analyze bridge structures, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls.
  • Collaborate with in-house engineers, CAD technicians, and sales/marketing teams to specify and design products.
  • Provide technical support to the operations/manufacturing team to ensure proper fabrication of products.
  • Coordinate with field sales staff and the manufacturing team to address questions and concerns regarding product design, manufacturing, and installation.
  • Review design work produced by other team members to ensure accuracy and inspect in-house fabrication for adherence to design drawings.
  • Maintain engineering standards, policies, best practices, and procedures, and help develop training programs and aids for products.
  • Assist in the development and writing of technical papers and product literature needed for the support and promotion of products.
  • Have a working knowledge of governing specifications covering products and contribute to the development and modification of such specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge and certifications in the civil/structural engineering field, including attending industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, with a strong preference for Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis.
  • EIT required, with PE or eligibility to take the PE exam within one year of hire strongly preferred.
  • 3-6 years of experience in structural steel or bridge design.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel required, with experience with AUTOCAD, finite element analysis, and/or structural analysis software preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
  • High-level analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
