ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients.

We are seeking experienced design engineers, including mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and fire protection engineers, to perform facility design and facilities consulting services for ERG's diverse client base of federal government clients, including the Department of Defense.

The qualified individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing site visits to analyze existing conditions, identify stakeholder concerns, and develop engineering recommendations for new or renovated facilities
  • Preparing facility design packages for a wide range of facilities, including but not limited to industrial, administrative, storage, and support facilities
  • Preparing all designs in accordance with relevant local, state, and federal codes and standards
  • Preparing technical memoranda/reports that summarize information, such as engineering recommendations, conceptual plans, or other technical documentation
  • Collaborating/communicating effectively with other stakeholders internal to and external to the design team (e.g., engineering and manufacturing departments)

Qualifications and Skills:


Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Fire Protection) with a Minimum GPA of 3.

Experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable

A professional engineering license is preferred but not required

A minimum of 8 years of design experience is required; 10+ years is preferred

Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software

Experience with building support systems relevant to degree (e.g., HVAC system design and selection experience is preferred for mechanical engineers)

Experience relevant to energetics manufacturing environment is a plus, such as knowledge of industrial systems with strict humidity and temperature requirements and explosion-proof equipment

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
