Position Overview

The role of Electrical Controls Technician 2 involves expertise in the repair and installation of machine and industrial electrical control systems. We are in search of a skilled Controls/Instrumentation technician to implement and integrate SCADA and telemetry solutions within the water and wastewater sectors. Responsibilities will include utilizing CAD software to create electrical schematics for project submissions (templates are available, and training can be provided if necessary). The ideal candidate should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience or education in supporting or installing electrical control systems and PLCs, along with a solid understanding of electrical theory, machine electrical controls, and electrical safety protocols. Proficiency in CAD software (preferably electrical), PLC control systems, and fundamental electronics/electricity is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers and clients in executing SCADA projects related to the fabrication, repair, integration, and assembly of industrial control panels and DFS systems.
  • Provide assistance to the Systems Engineering Department and electrical contractors during field installations and the integration of DFS RTUs, including on-site commissioning.
  • Create electrical and mechanical schematics for assembly and submission review.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of projects prior to in-house delivery and support commissioning on-site.
  • Utilize company protocols to generate proposal documentation.
  • Integrate and commission control panels in accordance with company policies and approved project documentation.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the company's equipment to fully comprehend and integrate the telemetry system to fulfill customer automation and telemetry needs.
  • This position is hands-on, requiring the ability to understand and troubleshoot electrical control systems in conjunction with customer-integrated equipment.

Qualifications

  • A valid driver's license with a clean record is required to qualify for insurance on the company vehicle provided.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
