Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will oversee the recruitment process for Tommy Nobis Center (TNC). This role involves developing, managing, and sustaining a robust pipeline of candidates for various positions within TNC. The Specialist will advocate for TNC's extensive employment and organizational culture services while ensuring adherence to company policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead talent acquisition and recruitment initiatives by collaborating with the People and Culture team to create effective hiring strategies.
  2. Stay informed about current employment laws and regulations, as well as trends and best practices in recruitment and People & Culture. Provide recommendations for enhancements.
  3. Prepare and publish job postings, create advertisements for WebATS, DOL, the company website, and other agencies as mandated by the Affirmative Action Plan for all positions at Tommy Nobis Center and Nobis Enterprise.
  4. Source qualified candidates through various channels, including databases, online job boards, career fairs, and social media platforms.
  5. Coordinate interview schedules, prepare interview materials, and collaborate with the People & Culture team and other relevant interviewers.
  6. Evaluate candidates' qualifications, skills, and experiences to ensure the best fit for open roles.
  7. Maintain current knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance standards.
  8. Address inquiries related to People & Culture as necessary.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, rehabilitation, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel and Outlook) is required.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in recruitment or human resources, including familiarity with HRMS/HRIS systems.

  • Comprehensive understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
  • Knowledge of personnel and compliance records management.

  • Skilled in building professional relationships.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.

Written Communication: Strong writing skills are essential for creating professional documentation and effectively communicating with various stakeholders.

Oral Communication: Capable of presenting information clearly and effectively to candidates, new hires, program participants, employees, and other professional groups.

Leadership: Ability to guide and mentor colleagues in adhering to the policies and guidelines established by Tommy Nobis Center and relevant governmental agencies.

Organizational: Skilled in organizing data, managing workloads, and scheduling tasks. Consistent attendance is expected; occasional overtime may be required.

Problem-Solving: Multi-task oriented with the ability to make informed decisions based on employee responsibilities and provide practical solutions.

Equipment: Familiarity with computers, copiers, and fax machines.

Other Qualifications:

Mental Effort: Ability to analyze and comprehend statistical data while performing daily tasks necessary for the operations of the People & Culture Department.

Physical Requirements: Office environment that does not demand strenuous physical qualifications.

Working Conditions: Office setting with adequate working conditions.

Visual Effort: Well-lit environment requiring a standard amount of visual effort.
