Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Services Specialist to join our team at Milwaukee Area Technical College. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and repair activities and control functions at assigned campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, repair, and/or modify laboratory, shop, or physical plant equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • System Operations: Operate and maintain boilers, valves, pumps, and related equipment, as well as adjust and maintain control instruments of various types.
  • Facilities Management: Direct other building service employees in the performance of related duties and assist in the development and implementation of scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, purchase requisitions, budget estimates, and similar documents as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduation or G.E.D. equivalency.
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in building maintenance and repairs, including at least two (2) years of experience in the maintenance of air handling and related equipment.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
  • Skills and Abilities: General knowledge of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, electrical, water sewerage and control systems, and the tools and equipment used in their repair and maintenance. Ability to diagnose mechanical failures, operate and maintain all equipment with a minimum of supervision, and read and interpret blueprints.
