Job Summary

Canyon County is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead its Information Technology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and vision for the department, ensuring that technology solutions are aligned with the County's objectives and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the County's business objectives.
  • IT Operations Management: Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, including network systems, equipment, and software.
  • Recruiting, Development and Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing IT team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external IT vendors and stakeholders, ensuring that service level agreements are met.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Develop and implement strategies to mitigate IT risks, including data breaches and cyber threats.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Communication Technology, Electronics, Data Processing, or related field.
  • Experience: Six years of technical experience performing the above identified and related duties, and ten years of management or supervisory experience leading technical teams.
  • Skills: Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, programming, media, datacenter principles, and systems.
  • Ability: Work cooperatively and constructively with fellow colleagues and members of the public to provide public service of the highest quality.
