Job Summary

The Code Enforcement Officer plays a vital role in the Planning and Development Department, serving as a liaison between citizens and staff to ensure community standards for land use, rights of way, and buildings are met in a reasonable manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with citizens and staff to resolve land use and building code issues
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with community standards
  • Provide education and guidance on land use and building codes
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective enforcement of community standards
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of land use and building codes is essential, as well as the ability to analyze complex information and make sound judgments.
