Job Overview

We are seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS). This role will be responsible for providing jobsite coordination and clear communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, and other Railroad Personnel.

About the Role

The Transportation Operations Manager will be responsible for enforcing all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies, identifying rule violations, and resolving them accordingly. They will also provide daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities and ensure On-Track Safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide jobsite coordination and clear communication with Dispatchers, Train Crews, and other Railroad Personnel.
  • Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
  • Identify rule violations and resolve them accordingly.
  • Submit daily field reports detailing Contractor and/or Railroad activities.
  • Ensure On-Track Safety in accordance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with a Class 1 Railroad, Regional Short Line, Transit System, State DOT Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Railroad Contractor, and/or Railroad Consultant.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in basic email, phone, and text message applications.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
