About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Nutritionist to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a Public Health Nutritionist, you will play a critical role in providing nutritional counseling and breastfeeding support to individuals enrolled in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) supplemental nutrition program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide culturally competent motivational interviewing to clients
  • Develop and implement public health interventions to promote healthy eating habits
  • Collaborate with community partners to design and implement outreach and education efforts
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in public health nutrition
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in nutrition, nutritional sciences, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition
  • Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (R.D./R.D.N) certification preferred
  • At least one year of experience providing nutrition education and counseling
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
