Job Title: Behavior Specialist

United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Specialist to join our team. As a Behavior Specialist, you will be responsible for providing positive behavior support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess individuals served who exhibit maladaptive behaviors and develop individualized positive behavior support programs.
  • Train staff on behavior support and crisis safety plans, and monitor implementation.
  • Provide individual and group educational sessions to individuals served and their families to improve social skills, communication skills, or coping skills.
  • Document all interactions relevant to supports provided to individuals served, including reported changes in behavior, observations conducted, and communication between interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Science or related field.
  • 2-3 years experience in designing, training, and implementation of behavior programs for individuals with I/DD.
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License.
Working Conditions:

The Behavior Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The individual must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 lbs and operate a motor vehicle.
