The Bibb County School District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Education Support Specialist to join our team. As an Education Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic and behavioral needs of students in our elementary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Individualized Support: Work one-on-one with students to provide academic support and guidance, helping them to develop essential skills and strategies to succeed in the classroom.
  • Implement PBIS Strategies: Assist in the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to promote a positive school culture and reduce behavioral incidents.
  • Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate student assignments, provide feedback, and support student learning.
  • Maintain Student Records: Accurately maintain student records, including attendance, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Support Crisis Intervention: Participate in crisis intervention efforts, including physical restraints, as needed.
  • Communicate with Parents: Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and needs.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of an Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications/Licenses: None required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move around the classroom, including stooping, bending, standing for extended periods, and moving objects and materials.
