Site Program Instructor

Compensation: $20 per hour
This position entails assisting the Site Supervisor in managing the after-school program, with a strong emphasis on child safety, enrichment activities, and operational assistance. The individual will be responsible for overseeing student sign-in and sign-out processes, ensuring a secure environment, supporting various activities, and distributing snacks while adhering to mandated curricula. Attention to confidentiality, detail, documentation, and professionalism is essential. Candidates must be adaptable, capable of managing emergencies, and dedicated to fostering a positive learning atmosphere. This role also includes administrative support and engagement with parents and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Site Supervisor in recruitment efforts to maintain daily attendance of 40 students.
- Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures for each child.
- Verify that only authorized individuals are permitted to pick up children at the end of the program.
- Assist in organizing, distributing, and documenting snacks during designated times.
- Ensure access to drinking water for students to prevent dehydration during physical activities.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Maintain cleanliness in program areas, including sanitation stations and restrooms.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report any items that need reordering.
- In emergencies, consult the Master Registration List for student information regarding allergies and medical conditions.
- Complete incident and injury reports in accordance with program policies.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of student and family information.
- Create a positive and enriching environment for students and staff.
- Assist in administering social skills assessments.
- Follow the daily activity schedule established by the Site Supervisor.
- Promote hygiene practices, particularly hand washing before meals.
- Engage with parents and follow up on communications.
- Document sign-in/sign-out on the weekly log.
- Facilitate mandated curricula as outlined in the contract agreement.
- Advocate for healthy relationship building among participants.
- Represent the organization with professionalism.
- Assist in planning quarterly parent engagement events.
- Act as a liaison to school personnel for monitoring student progress.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance professional skills.
- Collaborate with the Site Supervisor to organize field trips.
- Ensure thorough completion of incident reports on the same day.
- Complete required training within specified deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure daily sign-in and sign-out for all youth participants.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness in program areas.
- Prepare for monitoring visits and audits.
- Support youth with their academic homework.
- Ensure nutritional needs are met through snacks.
- Assist with documentation and reporting for snack programs.
- Encourage respect and involvement from parents in program activities.
- Facilitate the use of educational technology as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Bi-lingual skills (Spanish or Creole) are advantageous.
- Availability to work required program hours.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Reliable transportation and personal cell phone.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Successful completion of a Level II background check.
The Site Instructor should exhibit strong interpersonal skills, effectively communicating with children, parents, and colleagues. A high level of responsibility and attention to detail is crucial. The role requires the ability to create a nurturing environment for students, demonstrating a genuine interest in child development. Candidates should be organized, punctual, and committed to continuous professional growth.
Physical DemandsThis position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear regularly. Extensive computer use necessitates sufficient hand dexterity and visual acuity.
