Job Summary

Maldonado Nursery and Landscaping Inc. is a leading provider of landscape services to commercial and residential clients. We are seeking an experienced Landscaping Construction Superintendent to oversee the construction, renovation, and maintenance of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach, evaluate, and train staff and field workers in the performance of landscape services.
  • Ensure that all construction services are delivered according to contract specifications, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Evaluate project site conditions, including topographies and soil conditions, and report to the project manager prior to commencement of work.
  • Maintain accurate daily and weekly Foremen and Superintendent activity logs, update production tracking reports, and generate other related reports as needed.
  • Responsible for dispatch of labor and equipment to job sites.
  • Recommend staff changes, promotions, wage adjustments, and staffing limits to the Branch/Project Manager.
  • Attend and assist with internal scheduling and pre-construction meetings.
  • Communicate with contract administrators and project/branch managers regarding applicable permits, utility locates, and inspections prior to execution.
  • Confirm plants are suitable for application as per drawings and specs.
  • Evaluate project and organize RFI's if any question exists that needs architect approval.
  • Review all plans, specifications, and estimates and bring any issues regarding materials or budgets to the pre-construction meeting.
  • Familiarize self with plans, details, and specs prior to start of job and pre-order materials as needed.
  • Daily collection of all receipts/bills of lading for all materials delivered to projects.
  • Manage sourcing and procurement for materials on projects.
  • Schedule crews for days and weeks ahead, effectively and efficiently.
  • Look for opportunities daily to beat budgets while maintaining quality.
  • Responsible for approving, coding, and submitting material invoices in a timely manner.
  • Conduct 'in-house' walk-through upon completion of each job, including assembly and completion of punch-list items in preparation for substantial completion walk-through.
  • Submit all change order information to the Project Manager for submittal to the owner.
  • Responsible for managing and approving all crews' timesheets and vacation requests.
  • Manage equipment/truck database and ensure routine maintenance occurs and is logged.
  • Manage all crews' GPS and driver safety scorecards, provide recommendations to the project manager for any driver warnings and write-ups.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of project management/superintendent experience in commercial landscaping, hardscaping, or irrigation.
  • Must be bilingual in Spanish.
  • Driver's License is REQUIRED.
