Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant, Congenital Heart Surgery, Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant to join our team at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide world-class pediatric heart care to the regional population.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct treatment and management of pediatric and congenital heart conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families/caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
- Document delivery of healthcare and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
- Participate in orientation and education of staff and students.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
- Experience as an acute care nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Care Unit.
- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
