Amentum is a leading provider of defense and aerospace services, seeking a highly skilled Pashtu linguist to join our team. This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.



About the Job

This is a contingent upon contract award position, requiring a cleared Pashtu linguist to provide foreign language interpretation, transcription, reporting, and translation services to support worldwide operations. The successful candidate will be based in Fayetteville, NC, and will be responsible for providing onsite support.



Job Description

The Pashtu linguist will be responsible for:




  • Providing foreign language interpretation, transcription, reporting, and translation services to support worldwide operations.
  • Working closely with operational elements to provide language support.
  • Conducting consecutive, accurate translations, and interpretations of on-going conversations and activities.
  • Providing language or dialect specific translations using correct structure of sentences in the required language and English.
  • Ability to work cross cultural, religious, and ethnic divides.
  • Frequent travel worldwide with minimal oversight and guidance for short-term deployments OCONUS to include extreme, austere, harsh conditions that may be possible war zones.
  • May be required to go on missions and be physically fit to perform these duties.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:




  • Have a current government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
  • Be a high school graduate, have a GED, or equivalent at a minimum, with some college level work preferred. In lieu of education, experience may be substituted.
  • Have scored a minimum of 3 on the ILR scale in Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in English and the target foreign language(s) preferably within the last 24 months.
  • A minimum of two years of experience is required.
