Job Summary

The Academic Support Specialist - Special Education will play a crucial role in supporting the academic success of our special education scholars. This position requires a strong understanding of special education principles, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans based on scholar needs
  • Analyze data to inform instruction and track scholar progress
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure comprehensive support for scholars
  • Case manage IEPs, including FBAs, BIPs, and scheduling IEP meetings
  • Create and implement evaluations that meet CDE quality standards for Special Education
  • Support accommodations and modifications implementation across the educational environment
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in special education or a related field
  • A valid Colorado teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
  • Experience working with special needs populations, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $31,000 to $48,400 depending on experience and level of education. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
