We are seeking an Education Support Specialist to join our team at Eight Eleven DBA Calculated Hire.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and support their academic success. As an Education Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers to provide instructional support, reinforce lessons, and offer individualized or small group assistance to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructional Support (50%):
    • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lessons, activities, and curriculum tailored to the needs of students.
    • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional help, particularly in core subjects like reading, math, and science.
    • Monitor and assist students with tasks and assignments, ensuring they understand and complete their work.
  • Classroom Management (20%):
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom environment by supporting classroom rules and routines.
    • Assist with behavioral management and help implement positive behavior interventions.
    • Supervise students during class activities, transitions, recess, and other times to ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
  • Student Support (15%):
    • Work with students who have special needs, including assisting with accommodations outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 plans.
    • Encourage social interaction and positive peer relationships to foster the social-emotional development of students.
  • Collaboration & Communication (10%):
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to discuss student progress and implement appropriate strategies.
    • Communicate with parents/guardians as needed to provide updates on student progress or behavior.
  • Administrative & Clerical Support (5%):
    • Assist with the preparation of materials, setting up classroom displays, and maintaining student records.
    • Support with routine administrative tasks as directed by the teacher or principal.
    Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
    • Experience: Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting. Experience supporting students with special needs or in a STEM-focused classroom is a plus.
    • Skills:
      • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff.
      • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
      • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude in working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
    Salary and Benefits:

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $45,000 - $55,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
