Job Title: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist with medical procedures, and maintain accurate records. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist with patient scheduling, check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as clinically directed.
  • Check patient's vital signs, obtain and document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs on the correct form.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered, such as starting IV access, obtaining blood glucose level, and EKG studies per scope of practice.
  • Assist with preventative health screening measures for patient population and manage patient questions and requests in patient messaging system.
  • Triangulate urgent requests and clinically direct to appropriate staff for follow-up.
  • Manage proper documentation of outside facility records into MHS Genesis electronic health record.
Requirements:
  • Certificate / Graduate from a medical assistant training program from any accredited collegiate institution or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support (must be either American Heart Association or American Red Cross): Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medica Assistant certification by the American Medical Technologists (AMT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Health Career Association (NCA), and Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation preferred.
