Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer to be based in Columbus, OH. This is a hybrid role that offers the flexibility to split time between home and office.

This position will provide the opportunity to directly support transformational projects, including the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project. The project entails design and construction of existing bridge improvements and a new bridge crossing of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky, along with 8 miles of significant highway improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dive into exciting engineering challenges by taking on specific tasks
  • Gather and analyze essential engineering data using well-established procedures
  • Tackle detailed engineering assignments, including calculations and tests
  • Innovatively solve new problems, drawing from your experience and expertise
  • Identify and address discrepancies in results
  • Guide and mentor entry-level engineers on their journey
  • Execute tasks within budget and schedule, showcasing your independence
  • Independently handle primary design elements for engineering projects
  • Excel in a professional role with developmental experience

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification from any state
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Proficiency in Synchro or Vissim modeling software
  • Expertise in Traffic Signal design, lighting design, and signal timing
  • Knowledge of ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) design is a plus
