Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Center Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our community outreach team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote the emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being of youth and adults in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs that meet the diverse needs of our community, including structured recreation, leagues, and tournaments, as well as unstructured recreation, after-school programs, and summer day camps.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Community Center, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Build relationships with community members, volunteers, and staff to promote our programs and services.
  • Collaborate with Corps Officers to develop and coordinate rental agreements for outside groups and assist with the Christmas campaign.
  • Work with caseworkers to support the Food Pantry, including packing food for clients and maintaining a clean environment.
  • Assist with other activities and projects as needed to support the mission of The Salvation Army.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education or child development, or 480 hours of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information to diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Proficiency in word processing software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
