Key Responsibilities

Legal Assistance

  • Prepare for and represent the company in Eviction Court sessions via virtual platforms or in-person.
  • Facilitate negotiations for settlements with residents through various communication methods.
  • Draft and submit a range of legal documents, including pleadings, orders, and motions.
  • Provide legal counsel to internal teams regarding resident-related legal issues.
  • Participate in building code hearings and collaborate with operations and internal construction teams to address code compliance matters.
  • Oversee and execute various administrative duties, including preparing and auditing legal files and updating management software.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Review, revise, and assist in the execution of company policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes that impact your role within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited institution and licensed to practice law in Illinois.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with diverse teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and robust organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Willingness to work from our Chicago office – this position is not remote.
