Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will engage in meaningful collaboration with suppliers, analyze performance metrics, and drive initiatives for ongoing enhancement. Your role will involve working closely with diverse teams to uphold superior quality standards while nurturing strong partnerships with our esteemed suppliers.

  • Oversee Product Qualification Initiatives at Suppliers – Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs).
  • Address, manage, and resolve Quality challenges related to supplier non-conforming components identified at customer assembly facilities and warehouses globally.
  • Guide suppliers in effectively managing non-conformance issues.
  • Facilitate process enhancements.
  • Lead supplier root cause analyses and corrective actions through the Problem Resolution framework.
  • Examine and resolve manufacturing capability challenges within the supply chain to ensure seamless business operations.
  • Identify and advocate for cost-saving opportunities through collaboration with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business.
  • Conduct audits of existing and prospective suppliers to assess manufacturing capabilities and ensure quality systems are established.
  • Enhance supplier capabilities to align with current and future demands.
  • Collaborate with customer-facing teams to investigate potential product non-conformances.

Experience Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control processes.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of components.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple problem investigations concurrently.
  • Ability to oversee Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from inception to resolution.
  • Knowledge of inspection techniques and evaluation of inspection capabilities.

Essential Skills:

  • Technical education or advanced training in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Proficient in office software applications (MS Office).
  • Self-motivated and independent mindset.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with critical components.
  • Demonstrated application of Quality improvement methodologies and tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Applicants must possess legal authorization for employment in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the power generation or aerospace sectors.
