Position Purpose

The Component Relations Manager (CRM) is integral in fostering and sustaining positive connections with our member divisions, branches, and regions. This role serves as the primary contact for 19 chartered divisions, 56 chartered branches, and 4 regions, collaborating with various departments within the association to facilitate effective communication and management support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the staff liaison for 19 chartered divisions, 4 regions, and 56 chartered branches, coordinating with the Director of Membership to prepare agendas, reports, and meeting summaries while ensuring timely completion of related projects and action items.
  • Develop and execute strategies that enhance operational relationships, build trust between ACA and its components, and promote key ACA initiatives. This includes staying informed about member challenges and opportunities, identifying component needs, establishing best practices, and ensuring components receive pertinent information regarding ACA's programs and services.
  • Provide management support by offering resources, leadership development, policies, and tools to enhance communication. Build and maintain relationships with component leadership to ensure outstanding customer service and responsiveness, including onboarding new leaders and supporting budget development.
  • Design, update, and implement tools to assist various components in managing and improving their operational activities.
  • Collaborate with components on short- and long-term programming plans to align with ACA's strategic objectives.
  • Moderate and maintain community knowledge-sharing platforms, adapting to new digital tools to enhance participation.
  • Implement ongoing systems, processes, and programs to support membership development activities, business operations, and member engagement initiatives in line with national campaign goals.
  • Communicate news, reminders, and helpful information according to the monthly components communication plan, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
  • Ensure accurate representation of ACA component leadership in membership databases and online communities.
  • Conduct monthly outreach to component leadership, providing necessary membership information and data.
  • Ensure that ACA component leadership receives accurate reports in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in and contribute to the annual components budget development.
  • Assist in coordinating component-related events at ACA conferences or other gatherings.
  • Engage ACA departments in component activities, including education, career development, and advocacy programs.
  • Generate reports to share progress and updates with the Director of Membership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in component relations with a proven track record as a Client Relationship Manager.
  • A strong commitment to the mission of ACA and a desire to positively influence the trajectory of a significant counselor support organization.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Aptitude for building positive relationships.
  • Strong collaborative skills with excellent organizational abilities, capable of setting priorities, solving problems, and managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • High adaptability to work in an innovative, fast-paced environment and embrace change.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office Suite and membership management systems.
