Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Somerville, Massachusetts.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing direct patient care and participating in therapeutic milieus. As a member of our Resource Team, you will have the chance to care for patients on various in-patient units and at the Clinical Evaluation Center.
The variety of work assignments will provide a rich learning experience, and a comprehensive orientation will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Participate in therapeutic milieus and patient groups
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and maintain professional boundaries
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and utilize de-escalation techniques
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- One year of patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
- Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for communication and clinical purposes
- Competitive salary with shift differentials
- Additional $1/hr on base salary as a member of the Resource Team
