Montessori Educator Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Montessori educator to join our team at Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School in Washington, DC.
About the Role:
- This is an 11-month position with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, providing specialized instruction services to students with diverse needs.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for case management, attending IEP meetings, providing individualized and small group instruction, and collaborating with classroom teachers and assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Special Education: Providing case management, attending IEP meetings, and offering specialized instruction services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Interventions: Designing and implementing interventions for students struggling in reading, math, or other areas, utilizing research-based strategies to support student growth.
- Data Collection and Review: Supporting data collection to identify students requiring special education services and collaborating with teachers to analyze relevant data, informing student support plans.
- Training: Participating in Montessori training, SafetyCare, or other specialized programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Other Duties: Substituting, covering classes, assisting during arrival and dismissal, and participating in school functions as requested by the Executive Director.
Required Competencies and Qualifications:
- Firm commitment to upholding Breakthrough Montessori PCS's mission and anti-bias/anti-racist pedagogy.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team of educators.
- Self-starter and self-manager with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in learning to utilize Montessori materials and experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Degree in Special Education or related field required, with Special Education certification and/or degree preferred.
- Montessori Primary or Elementary Diploma is a plus.
