Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our team at Step Up. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed payroll functions, administering employee benefits programs, and maintaining all payroll data and benefit documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll, benefits, and official transactions in compliance with all applicable Federal, state, and county rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Enter payroll, benefits, and related data into computer systems and maintain information system databases.
  • Coordinate and complete health insurance compliance for the ACA.
  • Review source documents for compliance to rules and regulations, determine proper handling of payroll and payroll transactions, and report discrepancies.
  • Check documents for validity and accuracy of information, perform mathematical calculations, record, file, and distribute related paperwork and technical documents.
  • Reconcile transactions and records according to policies, review payroll records, and correct errors as required.
  • Collect payroll, benefits, and administrative information, compile data for reports, identify and research payroll issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Prepare payrolls for review, approval, and submission to the VP of HR, generate payroll reports for government agencies, and track and update employee information for taxes and benefit deductions.
  • Provide information and assistance to employees as authorized, respond to requests for information, and attempt to resolve them by researching files and records within the scope of authority.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, identify and reconcile errors, and perform mathematical calculations with skill and accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize workload based on urgency and importance.
  • Friendly and easygoing with the ability to work well in a small office environment.
