Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all facilities operations comply with relevant regulations, including hazardous waste management, infectious waste disposal, and forklift safety.
  • Hazardous and Infectious Waste Management: Oversee the collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous and infectious waste in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Forklift Maintenance and Safety: Ensure that all forklifts and material handling equipment are properly maintained and in safe working condition.
  • Supply Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of facility supplies, including cleaning materials, safety equipment, and operational consumables.
  • Physical Security: Oversee the physical security of the facilities, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with facility service providers and vendors, including waste disposal contractors, maintenance services, and security providers.
  • Team Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of direct reports, including CDL Class B drivers with Hazmat endorsements.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs for staff on regulatory compliance, safety practices, equipment operation, and emergency procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Years of manager/supervisory experience in industrial operations or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions

Individual will be required to go into clean lab and manufacturing environments on occasions, which require clothing changes into protective clothing and gear. This will include having to shower-in/shower-out. Both indoor and outdoor work is required with exposure to all potential weather conditions.
