We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at UTHealth Houston's Ob/Gyn Oncology department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.

**Estimated Salary:** $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Description

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients and families. Your duties will include:

  • Performing responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer satisfaction
  • Adhering to broad scope of practice as established by the Nurse Practice Act
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of the clinic or unit by proper scheduling and planning for optimum use of staff and resources
  • Using systematic approach to provide nursing care to patients and families/populations
  • Prioritizing, synthesizing, and documenting assessments and nursing plan of care using critical thinking and judgment
  • Implementing plan of care within scope of practice through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and delegation and monitoring of unlicensed staff
  • Developing and implementing teaching plans for patients concerning maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health
  • Evaluating patients' response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A current Registered Nurse Texas License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certified preferred
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nursing or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school
