Our Mission

We're seeking highly motivated and adaptable individuals to join our team as Artificial Intelligence Engineers. As a key member of our HLT Department, you'll work on cutting-edge projects that leverage large language models, generative AI, and computational linguistics to address complex mission needs. Your expertise will help us develop innovative solutions that transform the way we interact with language and information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement AI and HLT solutions, including large language model technology
  • Analyze language processing needs and recommend innovative solutions
  • Prototype HLT systems or components based on analysis of workflow and operational mission needs
  • Evaluate technology solutions in the context of mission data and workflow needs, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Convey complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and/or white papers
  • Lead projects or small teams to solve complex HLT problems for our sponsors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, linguistics, or related disciplines
  • Knowledge of and experience in prototyping/developing human language technology components/systems
  • Ability to apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to human language technology processing challenges
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Demonstrated recent experience with large language model (LLM) technology and applications
  • Demonstrated experience in prototyping/developing human language technology components/systems
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java or Python
  • Ability to work independently to learn new technologies, methods, processes, frameworks/platforms, and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate challenging technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences
  • Must be a US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience, including summer internships, in AI/HLT relevant areas
  • Hands-on experience in the development/prototyping of HLT systems or components
  • Active DOD security clearance

MITRE offers a competitive salary range of $92,500 - $115,500 - $138,500 Annual, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
