Position Overview

The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team is accountable for all external financial disclosures, including SEC periodic filings, quarterly earnings announcements, 401(k) reporting, and investor relations presentations. This role also functions as an internal consultant to navigate complex transactions and business challenges. Reporting to the Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, the responsibilities include:
  • Drafting financial statements and disclosures for SEC periodic filings.
  • Creating financial statements and presentations for quarterly earnings announcements.
  • Managing the accounting for the company's capital structure, including debt and equity.
  • Researching and monitoring new accounting standards, summarizing their impacts for executives and the Audit Committee, and leading necessary process changes.
  • Analyzing complex transactions, applying intricate accounting standards, and developing effective solutions while communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Reviewing corporate accounting policies and collaborating with various stakeholders to implement necessary changes in response to business or accounting standard updates.
  • Working collaboratively with internal clients, including General Accounting, IT, Treasury, Strategic Investments, Legal, Internal Audit, and Real Estate Operations.
  • Overseeing periodic reviews and assessments of complex accounting areas, including impairment reviews, restructuring, strategic investments, joint ventures, and lease accounting.
  • Coordinating with external auditors and company stakeholders to ensure efficient audit execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with a CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in complex accounting, including SEC reporting and GAAP compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a team of finance professionals through ambiguity while achieving results.
  • Prior experience in Public Accounting (Big 4) is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior executives and business leaders.
  • A passion for driving innovation and change to advance the business.
  • Consistent practice of strategic thinking and agile problem-solving to align with business priorities.
